PETOTE designer Janet Lee has always been devoted to her two main passions: animals and design. In 2000, she decided to bring the two together and created the PETOTE pet carrier by Janet Lee. She realized that the pet carriers on the market were either poorly made or prohibitively expensive. Working from her design, Lee's father created the first PETOTE pet carrier prototype in his manufacturing facility. After designing a few preliminary samples, Lee started knocking on doors. Within a few weeks, boutiques around the country were lining up. The first pet carrier of its kind to be manufactured in America, PETOTE pet carriers are crafted in luscious materials like crocodile, suede and tweed, accented with leather shoulder straps and modeled after the hottest handbags on the runway. In 2004, Lee designed a matching travel duffel and tote bag to create the Janet Lee Travel collection, the first travel collection designed for people and their pets. Today, PETOTE pet carriers by Janet Lee and the Janet Lee Travel collection are sold nationwide and overseas in Japan and Brazil. Celebrity fans include Jennifer Lopez, Uma Thurman, Julianne Moore, and many more. Away from the office, Janet spends time caring for Madison, a Maltese and the inspiration for one of the PETOTE lines.
